Boot Camp Swimming!!!

So Mackenzie just got finished with swimming lessons this week. She took from Janet Flemming in Burlington(yes we drove to Burlington everyday and it was well worth it). If you know Mackenzie or have ever heard the stories I tell she is a very hard headed and determined to do what she wants, I wonder where she gets that from? See this is a girl who never wanted to put her head in the water or jump off the side much less the diving board. So I decided to take her to swimming lessons. She did great all week, she would tell me what she was doing but would not show me at our pool. (we were not allowed to stay) So I thought here we go she is going to do it there but not with us. For example the other night I asked her if she was going to jump on the diving board at our pool and she said NO!!!!, I asked her why is she jumping off at lessons then, she said "Because I had too!!!" Needless to say on Friday when parents were allowed to stay and watch she did everything. We went to our pool that afternoon and she still did everything. We are so proud of her!!!! Janet is a very good teacher, she is stern and to the point but she gets kids to learn how to swim. If you want your kid to swim then I recommend her but she is not for the faint at heart.

So if anybody noticed Elyse had some strabismus going on. We had three choices with what to do to help fix this. We could have her wear glasses, she would never leave them on, we could do nothing and hope it would not effect her vision( it has not so far), or we could surgically fix it. We know that she had been through a lot in the last couple of months but we felt like it was best to fix it. Oh by the way the chance of my children wearing glasses is high anyway b/c Mike and I both wear glasses. So here is the before and after...... Once again she was a ROCKSTAR!! Before
6 hours after, the difference is amazing already.

These two Miss Ava and Elyse were the pre-wedding entertainment. Yes, Elyse is walking everywhere and Ava just cruises everything, I expect her to start in a couple of weeks.

So Mike's sister got married this weekend and Mike and Mackenzie were in the wedding. Mackenzie is no longer shy about getting up in public as we found out at the dance recital when she did great with her dances. The wedding was gorgeous and my husband was as handsome as ever. Who remembered that he could clean up this nice.
