"The Lovee"

Mackenzie never had a blankie or "lovee", just a paci. My aunt made the twins a tag blanket or in my family " a lovee" as my cousins little girl Kambell calls hers. Well Elyse not a huge fan of the paci but loves her "lovee" and mommy's pillow. Yes sometimes they sleep on my bed during the day.
Picture day in Cary. Yes you heard me I went out and had the girls pictures made. Don't worry Mike met me there and my grandma went. It was still a adventure. We made no plans to change outfits and that was a good thing, the twins lasted about 15-20 minutes and Mackenzie was a big help. They smiled the best on the ugly black background of course but they are still very cute if I should say so myself.

PRINCESS AVA!!!!!!

The girls have been doing great and work is going great. Mackenzie starts preschool tomorrow, she has such a good time there. Mommy also enjoys the break 3 days a week. Mackenzie has showed interest in the computer so here I am trying to teach or the concept of the mouse and to click on what game she wants to play. She did not do to bad for her first time, hopefully she will get her daddy's computer knowledge. So yesterday I went in the bathroom to get a quick shower and this is what I found when I got out. Mackenzie thought Ava needed to be a princess also. At least both of them were where I left them. She is training them early on how to be a princess.

Rainbows vs.Tennis Shoes

So Mackenzie starts preschool next week and we go through this every year. For those of you know Mackenzie know that she is very head strong and hard headed. (wonder where she gets that from). We go through this every year at the beginning of preschool. Her and I talk(and the teacher) about how we need to wear tennis shoes to school so that the bark on the playground will not hurt her feet and so the sand will not get in her shoe etc..... We buy a pair of tennis shoes every school year and she usually wears them about 2-3 weeks and then it is back to the flip flops or crocs(which she has many colors of,what can I say she is a shoe girl). She picked these tennis shoes out and they are cute and she is excited about school and wearing them. This was the same thing that happened last year, so we will see how long this last this year.

Elyse is Mackenzie all over again with her big eyes and big cheeks. She talks a lot to this bunny on this chair. Elyse had her appointment in Chapel Hill and things went well. We did not find out anything that we did not already know. She is doing great and if no infections we do not have to go back for 3 months. Yeah!!!
Ava talks to the butterfly, she is a happy baby in the morning. She is definitely my Asian baby and Mike finally got a daughter that looks like him.
Mackenzie got mad at daddy the other night and decided to go to bed under the bar in the kitchen with the pillow from the couch. Once again and mind of her own.

Two different personalities

Ava and her wild hair.
Two of my sleeping beauties.

Such a happy baby, Miss Elyse.

Ava can be happy to.

Mackenzie helping daddy on Saturday.

Ava and Elyse are 3 months old and they have changed so much already. They already have such different personalities. Ava is my drama queen and the loud mouth of the family, Elyse is the quiet soft spoken baby and so laid back. Both are a bear to get to sleep when they are over tired, so we try to catch them as they are starting to get tired. This past weekend was my first full weekend back at work and daddy did great. All my girls love their daddy and he loves them very much. I am so lucky to have a husband that takes such a hands on approach with our children. Ava is definitely a daddy's girl, even my mom cannot believe how much she is a daddy's girl. Work is going well and it was actually harder to leave Mackenzie on Saturday morning than the babies. I have worked a few nights since I went back to work and they have been ok, people that know me know that I am not a night person, but we as parents do what is best for the kids. Mackenzie meets her new preschool teacher on Wed., she is so excited about starting preschool again, she loves it. She is going to be starting dance class in Sept. She has come out of her shell so much since the twins have gotten here. She makes us laugh everyday. She is very observant and does not miss much sort of like her mom. If the twins are anything like her our lives will be very interesting when they are teenagers. Elyse has a MD appt. on Thursday in Chapel Hill, will update then.

2 month checkup

We had the girls 2 month check up today, even though they are 3 months old.
Ava is 11 pounds and 23 inches long. Elyse is 12 pounds 9 oz and 22 1/4 inch long.(Big Girl).
Both girls got three shots, they did OK. Not too bad. I chose not to get the rotavirus vaccine so they did not get that. I went back to work last night and it went well and the girls and daddy did great. I am a little sleep deprived now so sorry for no pics this time. I am going to be working Sat and Sun. daytime and every other Monday Night. I think I can swing two nights a month.
Will update pics tomorrow.

Back to work this week.....

cheesy smile, silly Elyse
Ava all serious before church
Mommy and Mackenzie made brownies
Mackenzie taking pics of herself

Yes that is correct I am going back to work this week. I will miss the girls while I am there but I truely enjoy my job and the kids that I help. Don't get me wrong if we would have won the lottery I would not be going back, I would just contibute my money to the hospital. We had a good weekend at home, just the girls, mommy and daddy.
